Perfect Switch Programmable OR'ing
OR'ing Diodes are designed to OR two sources to a single load. Ultra-low on-resistance means devices require no heat sinking and no airflow at currents up to 300 Amps. OR'ing Diodes are epoxy encapsulated in a custom ABS enclosure and are well suited for hostile environments. Both programmable and non-programmable versions are available.

IMPORTANT: If you have a Balmar External Voltage Regulator connected in the system please advise so that we can program the trigger time to one minute (Balmar regulators have a 35 second delay before they power up).

Description:
POWER-GATE programmable OR'ing diodes are designed to selectively OR one of two sources to a load. This configuration can be programmed to automatically conduct current from a pre-defined Master source to the load. When the primary source drops to a pre-defined low Voltage threshold (or alternate metric), the device will "flip" and current from the secondary Slave source will drive the load. The customer's application and performance requirements dictate how the devices will be programmed. This setup is highly customizable so please contact us so we may assist in configuring devices for your application.

POWER-GATE programmable OR'ing diodes provide high performance and reliable switching without the conductive losses and leakage typical to Schottky rectifiers.

Conventional silicon and Schottky rectifiers can be economically priced, but have significant performance issues:

substantial Voltage drop as current passes
conductive losses create significant heat
batteries never get fully charged
alternator regulators always inaccurate due to diode drop

Programmable OR'ing diodes are constructed based on Perfect Switch's internationally patented large MOSFET array technology.

Programmable OR'ing Diode (Gen 4.0) Information

The POWER-GATE Programmable OR'ing functionality is achieved using two, bi-directional solid state relays (RB devices). For Absolute Maximum Ratings, Recommended Operating Conditions and Electrical Specifications, please view the specification sheet for the POWER-GATE Bi-Directional Relays.

Electronic assembly inserted into ABS encapsulation shell then backfilled with black, flame retardent, filled epoxy specifically developed for the potting of electronic modules.

Four integrated mounting holes pre-drilled to .250"

Mounting posts, 5/16-18 x .50" with provided brass washers and nylon insert 5/16-18 nuts. Mounting torque not to exceed 75 inch-pounds or 8.5 newton-meters.
