Performance
and Lifespan of the Industry Leading Lithionics Battery
Lithium-ion Battery Systems - posted Jan 17,

Today
we'd like to discuss the incredible performance and lifespan
of the industry leading Lithionics Battery lithium-ion
battery systems. Lithionics only uses the highest grade
A+ large capacity cells so typically there will be only
4 large cells inside our 12 Volt batteries. Many low cost
competitors use hundreds of Grade B or Grade C tiny cells
which not only introduces hundreds of possible connection
failure points but the lower grade cells cannot be used
for engine cranking - they are only good for deep cycle
and have restrictive limits on the number of Amps they
can offer that severely limits their use for high power
systems. Compare that with the high quality Lithionics
Batteries which are true dual-use deep cycle and engine
cranking batteries with the highest ratings for Amp capabilities
- both for discharging and charging. I'd like to refer
you to the attached graphic: the Lithionics Battery Cycle
Life Chart. Here, you will see that if you drain our battery
50% each cycle you will get a minimum of 5,800 cycles.
If you drain the battery to the maximum allowed by Lithionics,
90% discharged (this is regulated by our BMS), you will
get a minimum of 2,300 cycles. What's important to note
is that at the end of these cycles, the battery still
works fine and can last many more years but it may have
lost up to 20% of the original capacity.
Two
more important points:
1. Lithionics tests all of their batteries at a very aggressive
"1C rate" which is 2-4 times higher Amps than many of
the lower cost competitors batteries are tested at. This
gives us a much more true/ real world understanding of
the actual cycles that Clients will achieve.
2. Lithionics lithium-ion batteries can be drained up
to 90% each cycle. Compare that with most competitors
where you can use only 70% or 80% of the battery capacity.
This means that with the Lithionics batteries you get
more usable electricity/ power. At Lithionics, we want
all of our Clients to get all of the power and the lifespan
that we say that you will receive. Most of our Clients
will see a 10 to 20 year service life.
