Lithionics Lithium-ion Battery Installation Plus Additional Electrical Upgrades

This was a tricky project that required us to design/ build a custom aluminum battery box to fit in an existing compartment. We also supplied a 9 panel Solbian solar panel system, MPPT solar charge controllers, high output alternator with Balmar MC-614 external Voltage regulator and the Lithionics State of Charge Monitoring System. Shown on the right side (black box) is a PFC 1500 smart lithium-ion battery charger that is powered by Shore Power. This vessel has no generator - this is made possible by the large solar array and high output propulsion engine alternator for battery charging.

Another difficult part of this installation was that there was a very small odd-sized space for the solar charge controllers. The only way we could fit in all 9 MPPT solar charge controllers was to design and fabricate this custom aluminum rack that bolts together to allow easy installation.
