On some of the more complex projects, we may charge a nominal fee for project research relating to your project, engineering consultations with experienced experts in the field or for detailed installation wiring diagrams.

IMPORTANT NOTES:
TEMPERATURE EXTREMES FOR LITHIONICS LITHIUM-ION BATTERY SYSTEMS:
With the release of the Lithionics Advanced NeverDie Battery Management System (BMS) equipped with Version 8.0 software that is UL approved (as of May, 2018), there are new temperature parameters that we want the lithium-ion batteries to fall within - particularly when charging. This is important especially in vehicles and some marine applications. If the battery temperature is below 32 Fahrenheit or above 113 Fahrenheit the single channel BMS will turn off. As such, we have several ways that we can control the battery temperature in hot and cold conditions - such as a special battery enclosure with heating and/ or cooling features built-in. Also, if we deploy the Dual Channel BMS that separates the "Charging" and "Discharging" functions of the system we can allow the BMS to switch off charging when the temperature parameters are exceeded but you can still discharge or use power from the lithium-ion battery system safely from -4 Fahrenheit to 140 Fahrenheit. Please consult with getlithium.com/ Pinnacle Innovations to ensure that we specify the correct system for you that will perform in the conditions that you need. All battery types including lead-acid and AGM batteries have similar optimal operating temperatures but it is not well publicized - likely due to the relatively lower cost of such battery technologies with limited performance and life-span.

2020 WINNEBAGO VIEW 24D RV 315 AMP HOUR GTX BATTERY AND STERLING CHARGER UPGRADE MARCH 2021

The Mercedes Benz 3500 Sprinter van chassis is both popular as a base chassis for RV manufacturers as well as "Do-it-Yourselfers". The Lithionics Battery lithium-ion house battery upgrade is relatively simple in that we do not need to cut into/ tap into any of the OEM Mercedes wiring and by adding/ connecting a Sterling Power BB1230 12 Volt DC to 12 Volt DC battery to battery charger with 30 Amps output, we do not void the Mercedes OEM alternator warranty. On the 3500, it is often equipped with a 220 Amp alternator but Mercedes only wants secondary battery systems to use up to 40 of those Amps or else you run the risk of burning out the alternator. The Sterling Charger needs two 8 or 10 AWG tinned copper marine power wires (check cable charts for length of your cables and the required cable size) run from the engine start battery (with a 50 Amp inline fuse) to wherever the charger is located.

The above photo is a top view looking down. You can see the white box in the lower right labelled Sterling BB1230. This is the 30 Amp Sterling Smart Charger which has been custom programmed using the "Custom" setting on the charger. In very hot/ southern areas we may choose to mount this charger under the RV in a waterproof enclosure to prevent excess heat buildup in the now sealed and inulated battery compartment. Otherwise we can use two black plastic round louvered duct air vents on the vertical part of the step.

Notes:
1. The Lithionics battery takes up less space and weighs about 1/2 the original 2 battery weight.
2. Like with many refits, the space becomes tight with the addition of the sheet metal, insulation and Sterling Charger. The OEM inverter cables are not long enough as is the DC power cable. As such we don't really have the luxury of laying cables out nicely as we'd like - its more a case of you have to work with what you can fit.
