ONE OF THE LITHIUM-ION BATTERY SYSTEM RV PROJECTS PINNACLE INNOVATIONS HAS COMPLETED

2016 WINNEBAGO ITASCA ON A 2015 MERCEDES SPRINTER VAN CHASSIS RV LITHIONICS BATTERY SYSTEM UPGRADE

This was a fun project that Pinnacle Innovations completed in 2022. Even though this is not a super large RV, the Owner's use of the RV is mostly off-grid and as they wanted the ability to be able to run the roof-top air conditioner through the night, they decided to opt for two units of the Lithionics Battery GTX Series 12 Volt lithium-ion internal NeverDie Battery Management System batteries. Each battery has 320 "total" Amp hours of capacity - of which up to 90% or 288 Amp hours are "usable". This is a great deal of energy and with two of these batteries and a combined 576 usable Amp hour capacity, most RV Owners will get anywhere from 6 to 8 or even 9 hours of run time on air conditioners up to 15,000 BTU. The old/ inefficient/ low capacity original batteries. The Lithionics GTX Series battery model: GTX 12V320A-E2107-CS200 Some of the Victron Energy components that we also installed. This project opted for an upgrade to the great Xantrex Freedom XC Pro 3,000 Watt inverter-charger. We rewire the 120 Volt system as a part of this sytem upgrade so that everything - including the air conditioner can run off-grid on battery power alone (as well as still being able to run on Shore Power and Generator Power) Here, we are installing the Victron SOC gauge's negative ground shunt. On this project we installed two units of the 30 Amp output Victron Orion DC to DC Smart programmable battery chargers that provide isolated and optimal battery charging via the engine alternator.
